My Training and Experience

I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at University College London (UCL), before going on to obtain a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy.  Following this, I undertook my Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at City, University of London, and subsequently completed further specialist training in a number of eating disorder treatments.

Since 2020 I have worked within the therapy team at Vincent Square Eating Disorders Service and was appointed to Senior Psychologist grade in 2022. Throughout this time I have gained extensive experience in assessing and providing eating disorder treatment to adults and young people with complex presentations. I also hold the position of Research Champion for eating disorders within the Central and North West London (CNWL) NHS Trust, co-ordinating and supporting large-scale eating disorder research studies in partnership with leading educational institutions, such as UCL, Imperial, and King’s College.

In my private work, I support adults, adolescents and their families, and offer a combination of online and face to face appointments.

My Approach

I am truly passionate about my work and feel privileged in helping people understand their experiences and overcome their difficulties. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is crucial, so I always strive to create a warm and empathic space for my clients.

As a Counselling Psychologist, I tailor therapy to suit individual need, drawing on the various therapeutic techniques and models in which I’ve been trained.  I encourage my clients to capitalise on their existing strengths and help them connect with their values, goals and useful resources for recovery.

From working within the NHS and privately, I am aware of some of the challenges people face in getting the help they need. I strongly believe that anyone struggling with eating and/or body image difficulties is deserving of specialist support. The sooner someone seeks treatment, the easier it is to make a full recovery.

I offer a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), The Maudsley Model of Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults (MANTRA), and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).  I also often draw on Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), working integratively to tailor treatment to the individual.
